Re: Re: Reflections on cardiectomy

There was - this is 30 years ago - a professor in either Argentina or Uruguay whose grasp of English was shaky, and who published an essay on John and Yoko's "Vegetarianism for Peace" initiative. This apparently derived from the chorus of their song: "All we are saying/ Is give peas a chance."
I do think we have come an immense distance in the past 100 - 120 years in terms of comprehending the misery of warfare. Bush's attempts to void the Geneva Conventions have brought them back into the spotlight.
No-one can say what will tip things over the edge, but, as we have gone from about 15 people who understood Einstein (I discount Eddington's remark regarding himself and one other) up to a tally of tens (hundreds?) of thousands, so I can see antipathy toward organised mass violence eventually overriding the vested interests of the armaments industry and the sociopaths whose interests it serves.
